Reis Q2 2011 Regional Mall Trends

  • The vacancy rate at regional malls rose 20 basis points from 9.1 percent to 9.3 percent during the quarter, representing a new high in Reis’ series, which begins in 2000.
  • Asking rents were flat in the quarter and stand at $38.77 per square foot.
  • Because of the deterioration in rents from the third quarter of 2008 to the present, rents are now back to levels last observed in the second quarter of 2006.
