Slowly but surely, Bloomingdales' famed flagship on 59th Street in New York City is being remade. And Mancini-Duffy's designs are at the heart of that transformation. In the latest leg, the firm tackled the fourth floor, which includes the store's Designer Shoes and Intimate Apparel departments and a lounge area. One of the biggest challenges is that the Bloomingdales space is actually carved out of 11 different structures. That means designers have had to deal with different floor plans and structures with many dead-ends and somehow unify them in creating a new look. Here, Mancini-Duffy opted for a design motif of crème, ivory and silver with strong punctuations of black to unify disparate spaces. There are also fanciful gestures that punctuate the décor.
