Your entries must conform to the Entry Format detailed below. Companies submitting multiple projects should treat each project as a separate entry. The Official 2008 SADI Entry Form can be downloaded above, and at the bottom of this page.

1 - Binder and Label

Entries should be submitted in a black, standard three-ring binder. No logos, photos or other decorative elements may appear on the binder or its labels.

Each binder should be labeled on the front cover with a plain, white adhesive label. Only the following information should be typed or typeset in black ink on the label:

  • The name of the firm submitting the entry.

  • The award category.

  • The name of the project.

  • The location of the project (city, state or province, country).

2 - Official Entry Form

The first page in the binder should be the completed, typewritten Official Entry Form. Please complete a separate Official Entry Form for each project being entered. (Download a PDF of the Official Entry Form)

3 - Project Description

The second page in the binder should be a Project Description -- up to 500 words maximum. The Project Description should be typed or typeset in black ink on plain, white 8-1/2" x 11" paper. No logos, photos or other decorative elements may appear on the Project Description. Please use 12-point type and double-spacing.

In the Project Description, the judges request that you specifically answer the following questions:

  • What was your design mission?

  • What were some of the challenges you faced in achieving your goal/mission?

  • What was the budget for your project?

  • Did you accomplish your goal?

In addition, information on design objectives, positioning strategies and image, aesthetics, problem-solving techniques used, material usage, shopability, merchandising, signage and lighting is greatly appreciated.

4 - List of Suppliers and Key Personnel

The third page in the binder should be a typed or typeset list of the major product and service suppliers and their base cities, as well as a list of key project personnel.

5 - Floor Plans

The fourth page in the binder should be a store floor plan or center footprint. If a project is more than one level, please include a floor plan for each level. The floor plan(s) should be folded and placed in an 8-1/2"x11" plastic sheet protector for three-ring binders.

6 - Photograph Prints and Images

The last set of materials to be included in the binder are photograph prints and a CD of images of the project.

For NEW Entries:
• Please submit six 8" x 10" color prints and six color .jpeg images of the project.

For RENOVATED Entries:
• Please submit three "before" 8" x 10" color prints and three "before" .jpeg images.
• Please submit six "after" 8" x 10" color prints and six "after" color .jpeg images.

For ALL Entries:
• The prints should be submitted in 8-1/2"x11" plastic sheet protectors for three-ring binders.
• The .jpeg images should be submitted on a CD in a CD plastic sheet protector for three-ring binders.
• Please include interior and exterior shots as appropriate.
• The images in the prints and .jpegs should be identical.

The photograph prints will be used during the judging. The images will be used during the awards presentation if your firm is selected as a winner. No color photocopies or other image formats, please.
