O'BRIEN & ASSOCIATES

Sep 1, 2005 12:00 PM

How do you create a gathering place that people are drawn to, feel good in; a place that is interesting and comfortable? Can you provide this within budget? These are the questions our clients pose to us, and these are the questions we have answered successfully for more than 30 years.

O'Brien & Associates has created successful retail projects from Riverside to Orlando, from Houston to Detroit, including; town centers, specialty centers, power centers and mixed-use projects. We have offices in Dallas, Denver, Chicago and New Jersey. Our client list includes Archon, Lincoln Property Co., Regency Centers, Hunt Properties, Weingarten, Roseland Property Co., Margaux, General Growth Properties, Trammell Crow, Opus and Transwestern.

Currently we are working on The Shops at Highland Village. This 400,000-square-foot town center project is located in Highland Village, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. It has a bookstore, a theater and numerous national specialty tenants and restaurants. The architectural theme is Texas Hill Country and the site plan provides for a central gathering spot and a street plan, which encourages exploration and discovery of the various shops. Storefronts have shade structures in the form of awnings, trellises and canopies, many of which have misters and ceiling fans.

Another current project is High Street in Williamsburg, Va., a 400,000-square-foot high-end town center project with a Georgian architectural theme. The project has a bookstore, a theater, a health club, apartments, a small green grocer and numerous shops and restaurants. It is organized around a central green, complemented by brick-paved walks and streets.

We are also working on City Lights, a 600,000-square-foot vertical shopping center in downtown Dallas. It contains three levels of retail serviced by a six-level parking structure.

O'Brien & Associates is also the production architect for Perkins Rowe, a DDG designed 1.5 million-square-foot town center in Baton Rouge, La.

Our 30 years of experience give us confidence that we can handle projects of any complexity. From initial design to construction administration, O'Brien & Associates gives its clients a hands-on experience. We succeed when our clients succeed.
