Feb 27, 2002 12:00 PM, SCW Staff

ATLANTA -- Shopping Center World today announced the winners of the magazine’s 2002 Superior Achievement in Design and Imaging awards (SADI), one of the industry’s most respected and coveted design accolades.

Leading figures from the world of retail design judged the projects Jan. 31 in Atlanta.

The entries, which were assigned to various judging categories by size and project type, included new and renovated retail stores, restaurants, shopping centers and malls from across the globe. They were scored based on criteria such as construction problem-solving, general aesthetics, image-building, and implementation.

Nine entries won SADIs and three were awarded honorable mentions. The panel of judges for the 2002 SADI Awards included David Avila of Avila|Tom Architects; Tony Camilletti of JGA; Mark Carter of TVS; Rick Casey of Cooper Carry; Bruce Monighan of MONIGHAN; and Brian Wolfe of Perkowitz + Ruth Architects.
