Sep 1, 2003 12:00 PM

GSI Architects, Inc. is an award-winning architectural design firm headquartered in Cleveland's historic Playhouse Square district, with projects located throughout the United States and around the world. We have assembled talent from some of the world's premier architectural firms. The collective wisdom of our professional staff enables us to instill a process that invites the active participation of all.

Our current staff includes 67 professionals with expertise in planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, structural engineering and construction services. Our approach is to thoroughly explore design solutions from multiple perspectives of design expertise. Collaborating with our in-house structural engineering and construction management services helps us achieve our goal of creating outstanding architectural solutions in a timely fashion, within budget.

Founded in 1993, the firm has produced a diverse portfolio of work including mixed-use retail, residential, resort hospitality, corporate office, healthcare, higher education, newspaper facilities and theater restoration projects. Poised for its second decade of growth, the firm is led by President Peter Spittler; Principal of the Commercial Group Noel Cupkovic; Design Principals Scott Dimit and Denver Brooker; Principal of Urban Design Andrew Baqué; and Principal of Construction Services Dick Lengacher.

The firm's current retail projects include: The Flats East Bank Development in Cleveland, Ohio, a neighborhood redevelopment in an urban context with entertainment and service retail; Cornerstone Development, Parma, Ohio, a mixed-use Main Street with an entertainment anchor tenant in a suburban downtown; and The Shops at Midtown Miami, a hybrid retail mixed-use project with a significant residential component and parking infrastructure.

This body of work further complements the firm's philosophy of diversity and innovation. The face of retail development is changing. Traditional formats are no longer the norm. Our vision is to create a retail design practice that responds to society's desire to live, work and play in humanistic neighborhoods with shared values and synergy.
