MULVANNYG2 ARCHITECTURE

Sep 1, 2005 12:00 PM

MulvannyG2 Architecture creates retail environments that are 24/7 experiences, not just 9-to-5 encounters. There was a time when simply offering a wide variety of stores in one location was enough to keep the masses coming back for more. However, with the ever-increasing number of items vying for the attention of every consumer, that truism just isn't true anymore. MulvannyG2 knows what is true and that's designing spaces that work for people as well as their clients' bottom line. They know that if people are attracted to a space, revenue will follow.

More than simply giving people places to shop, they believe in creating places to be — environments where people can gather, visit, eat and yes, shop. At MulvannyG2, doing this successfully means understanding the community, the cultural aspects of the area, the history of the site itself, observing how people move through a site and react to it, and paying attention to the space in between the buildings as well as the buildings themselves. They've completed designs for mixed-use and retail centers throughout the U.S.

As excited as they are about their U.S. projects, they're just as excited about expanding their boundaries to include mixed-use developments in China. They've worked there for many years and they recently started design of their latest mixed-use project, Xian God-Temple, which is highlighted here. So, whether it's a mall built around a 600-year-old temple in China or a new center in the middle of downtown San Francisco, MulvannyG2 knows their way around mixed-use developments.
