O'Brien & Associates is an award winning commercial architecture firm with completed projects nationwide. The firm has been in business for 33 years, and has grown steadily to 70 employees with offices in Dallas, Chicago, Denver and East Hanover, N.J. One of the keys to success has been repeat business. O'Brien has retained some of the most prominent clients in the industry including: Regency Centers, Lincoln Property Co., General Growth Properties, Continental, Archon and Transwestern.

Our corporate culture reflects a commitment to customer service, quality work, professionalism and respect for our employees. Because of this important commitment we have been able to retain some of the best talent in the profession.

The firm is currently working mostly on large scale mixed-use properties throughout the country, including: The Shops at Highland Village, a 380,000-square-foot high end town center project in Highland Village, Texas; and High Street, a 320,000 SF town center in historic Williamsburg, VA. We are also the Architect of Record for the major buildings of Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a 1.5 million SF high-density town center designed by DDG.

The Shops at Highland Village contains a book store, a theater, and high-end shops. The plan is an urban grid, with a two-entry bookstore in the center. The north entry faces a public space surrounded by restaurants and a theater. The south entry faces a more formal space with a reflecting pool and a way-finding obelisk.

The Harbor is a 250,000-square-foot specialty center located on the west shore of Lake Ray Hubbard, in Rockwall, Texas. The Mediterranean-themed project contains a vareity of elements, including a 14-screen movie theater, a convention hotel and numerous shops and restaurants.
