Steiner + Associates opened phase one of the Greene, a 1.1-million-square-foot urban town center in Beaver Creek, Oh. When completed, the $186 million project will contain a mix of retail, residential, office, restaurant and entertainment uses. Construction on phase two of the Greene will begin in the spring of 2007, with completion scheduled for the fall of 2008.

Gale International and Vornado Realty Trust will redevelop the historic Filene's complex in Boston into a 1.2-million-square-foot mixed-use development. The project will include office, retail, condominium and hospitality uses. Construction is scheduled to begin in June of 2007. Mack-Cali Realty Corporation will co-venture Gale's investment in the development.

Archon Group will develop the 843,273-square-foot power center Alamo Ranch Marketplace in San Antonio. Construction for the project is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2007, with completion scheduled for March 2008.

Robert A. Manarino has established Manarino Realty to develop and renovate retail centers on the West Coast. Manarino has 27 years of experience in retail development. His partners include Richard Ziman and Victor Coleman, formerly of Arden Realty, John Long, of Highridge Partners, and Jack Mahoney, of Summit Commercial Properties.

Blackburn Properties began construction on Quail Creek Crossing, a 225,000-square-foot retail center in Wichita Falls, Texas. Completion for the first phase of the project is scheduled for spring of 2007. The center is 75 percent pre-leased.

General Growth Properties, Inc. held a grand opening for Pinnacle Hills Promenade, a 980,000-square-foot open-air mixed-use center in Rogers, Ark. The center includes a 250,000-square-foot big-box retail village, 275,000 square feet of specialty shops, a 23,000-square-foot Borders store, five sit-down restaurants, a 35,000-square-foot food pavilion and 80,000 square feet of office space.

NRDC Equity Partners LLC hired Christina Johnson as partner and managing director of retail and consumer investments. Prior to joining NRDC, Johnson served as president and CEO of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Forest City Commercial Group opened phase one of the Orchard Town Center, a 1-million-square-foot lifestyle center in Westminster, Colo. Phase two of the project will open in the fall of 2007.

The World-Wide Group will develop a 1-million-square-foot mixed-use project in New York City. The $500 million development, located on city-owned property, will include 170,000 square feet of retail space, 320 rental and condominium units and two public schools.

Vantage Point Properties will develop a 140-acre master-planned community in Andover, Kan. The project will incorporate 90 acres of retail, an elementary school, a YMCA and 30 acres of residential housing.

Regency Centers Corp. submitted plans to Prince William County, Va. for the development of the Shops at Stonewall, a 300,000-square-foot retail project.

Cameratta Properties L.P. broke ground on the $150 million First Street Village project in Fort Myers, Fla. First Street Village will be a mixed-use community featuring office, retail and residential uses.
