Atlantic Yards Clears Supreme Hurdle

Jul 1, 2008 12:00 PM

The U.S. Supreme Court in late June declined to hear an appeal from a group of property owners and tenants facing eviction to make room for a new New Jersey Nets arena. The property owners are losing because of the use of eminent domain to clear the way forForest City Ratner's Altantic Yards project. The group called the use of eminent domain a violation of the Constitution. The group plans to see if it can get the New York Supreme Court to hear the case.
