Larken Associates will renovate Echo Plaza Shopping Center, a 66,000-sq.-ft. retail complex in Springfield, N.J. The project will include a new exterior façade and roof, tenant signage, marquee sign and landscaping.

Schnitzer West opened the 1.6-million-sq.-ft. Bravern mixed-use project in Bellevue, Wash. The project combines 305,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurants with two 34-story residential towers and two office buildings contaning 755,000 sq. ft. of space.

AdVenture Development LLC broke ground on the one-million-sq.-ft. McCandless Crossing mixed-use project in Pittsburgh, Pa. When completed, it will include a retail component, two hotels, a variety of residential units and office/medical space.

Voit Real Estate Services promoted John D. Pierce to president of its commercial brokerage division. Voit also appointed Kurt Strasmann as managing director of the firm's Anaheim Metro office. Prior to joining Voit Real Estate Services, Strasmann served as executive vice president and managing director with Grubb & Ellis.

Cedar Shopping Centers Inc. appointed Joel I. Yarmak as chief administrative officer and Brenda J. Walker as COO. Prior to joining Cedar, Yarmak served as vice president of financial operations with Kimco Realty Corp. Walker was previously vice president of operations with Cedar.

Ironwood Property Group broke ground for Tilden Ridge Shopping Center in Tilden Township, Pa. The project will include a Wal-Mart Supercenter, a Lowe's Home Improvement Store and 100,000 sq. ft. of additional retail space. The opening is scheduled for late 2010 or early 2011.

Avison Young appointed Earl E. Webb as president of its U.S. operations. Prior to joining Avison Young, Webb served as CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle's capital markets group in the Americas.

FirstService Williams hired Matthew Lux as vice president of its retail leasing division. Prior to joining FirstService Williams, Lux served as director of real estate with Destination Maternity, a national retailer.

FirstService Real Estate Advisors appointed Mike Ken as president of its U.S. property management division. Previously, he was in charge of all leasing and property management operations with RREEF.

SRS Real Estate Partners hired Frank Bullock as executive vice president, Lee Loftis as vice president and Justin Schoellkopf and Robert Hunt as associates in its Dallas office.

RMC Property Group appointed Dan Morris as vice president of acquisitions and development. Prior to joining RMC, Morris served as director of retail real estate with Opus South Corp.

Savills hired David Monahan as senior vice president in its New York City office. Previously, Monahan served as managing director of DTZ Rockwood.

Regency Centers appointed Mac Chandler as managing director for the Pacific region. In the past, Chandler served Regency as managing director of investments for the Northeast.

Equinox Partners hired David Jacobstein as managing director. Prior to joining Equinox Partners, Jacobstein worked as a senior advisor in Deloitte's real estate practice.

Winoker Realty Co. hired Howard Epstein and Alex Fazio as associate directors. Before, Epstein worked in commercial leasing with Hercules Realty Group and Fazio served in the financial sponsors group of UBS.
