Sagging Revenue

Sales tax revenues plummeted for cities in both 2009 and 2010--falling 6.6 percent and 5 percent, respectively. Income tax revenues also fell 1.8 percent in 2010 after rising 4.2 percent in 2009. Property tax revenues, meanwhile, rose 1.3 percent in 2009 and 1.8 percent in 2010.
