PREIT announces death of chairman

Philadelphia – Locally based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) has announced that the chairman of the company, Sylvan Cohen, died on Saturday, September 8, 2001. He was 87.

Cohen, who in 1960 founded one of the nation’s first REITs, also was one of the founding members of the New York-based International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
