Jun 2, 2005 9:38 AM

The Inland Real Estate Group of Cos. continued its aggressive expansion last week when one of its divisions, Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust Inc., purchased 13 retail properties from Starwood Wasserman LLC for $383 million. The properties, which total 2 million square feet, are spread out over five states. Four are in California, three in Ohio and two each in Florida, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The properties range from the 322,051-square-foot Page Field Commons in Fort Meyers, Fla., to the 16,000-square-foot Cross Roads Plaza in North Attleborough, Mass. Inland officials weren't available for comments

So far this year, Inland Real Estate Group has acquired 70 retail properties worth $2 billion. In 2005, Inland is expected to top the $4 billion worth of acquisitions it completed last year.
