DORSKY HODGSON PARRISH YUE

Sep 1, 2008 12:00 PM

At the onset of a project, Dorsky Hodgson Parrish Yue (DHPY), brings thoughtful design, a strong partnering role, design leadership and an understanding of market trends. Those key elements combine to create dynamic sustainable environments that maximize and enhance client's investments. Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville, Ind., recently completed for Simon Property Group and Gershman Brown Crowley, is a hybrid retail center combining 600,000 square feet of Main Street/lifestyle retail, entertainment, office space, and 150,000 square feet of power retail, which exemplifies the desired results.

DHPY understands the dynamics of how people interact with their environment, affording them the insight of how to create a sense of engagement while shopping, living, working and being entertained. Design solutions are grounded in the geography of the site, local market trends, and its particular neighborhood — each of which offers the opportunity for individual flair and flavor within the space. When all the elements are present, that sense of place will exude and evoke emotion, creating a depth of experiences and the essence of community.

Saddle Creek, a Germantown, Tenn. high-density mixed-use project for Poag & McEwen, with its decidedly urban framework, is sited in a suburban environment. At one million square feet, the center includes 350,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, 150,000 square feet of class-A office space, 250 residential units and a 120-key hotel. A pedestrian-friendly community created by incorporating a variety of uses strategically positioned throughout the project, it conveys a strong sense of place. A series of active public spaces and visually stimulating streetscapes defines the experience for users moving from one end of the project to the other through a well-choreographed series of events. This movement transforms the space into a memorable and satisfying experience for the customer.

DHPY recognizes that the key to creating successful mixed-use projects with major residential, hotel, office, and entertainment components is through a sensitive blending of retail spaces with hardscape, landscape, and environmental graphic design.

Located on the south bank of the St. John's River, the 40-story luxury condominium Vu at St. John's is a mixed-use development including residential, retail, and office components. Providing the ultimate balance of working, shopping, and living, this project offers a synergy of usage that will attract people for years to come.
