DORSKY HODGSON & PARTNERS

Sep 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Creating dynamic environments with a special sense of place — that synergy in which people shop, live, work and just stroll — inspires DORSKY HODGSON + PARTNERS. As a national architecture, planning, interiors and environmental graphics firm, DORSKY HODGSON has successfully teamed with developers to capture the unique character of a property and translate it into a dynamic, interactive destination.

Surrounded by historic landmark properties, Montgomery Place blends multiple uses into a dynamic development located in the Heritage District of downtown Montgomery, Ohio. This mixed-use project includes 80,000 square feet of office, 75,000 square feet of retail, 30,000 square feet of specialty grocery store and 125 residential units.

For Deerfoot Meadows, a 25-acre, mixed-use Main Street project in Calgary, Canada, DORSKY HODGSON is creating a strong social orientation. This 500,000-square-foot lifestyle center, which will include retail, residential, restaurants and other entertainment venues, is the centerpiece of one of the largest developments in Calgary.

In addition to these lifestyle projects, DORSKY HODGSON is designing an open-air addition to Westfield Shoppingtown Hawthorn, an existing regional mall in northern Chicago. The project integrates a new two-story, 165,000-square-foot, open-air, lifestyle component, mixed with entertainment, a food court interior renovation and a two-level parking deck. The project is in response to changing consumer shopping and entertainment preferences.

With offices in Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Washington, D.C., the firm designs the full range of retail environments, including lifestyle and specialty centers, mall repositionings and special power centers. A major thrust of the firm's work is focusing on mixed-use projects which incorporate residential, hotel and office building components in a variety of unique New Urbanist settings.
