Expansion Plans

Over the past several years, the Fresh Market has added 15 to 25 new stores per year. In 1985, the firm opened its first store outside of its home state in Greenville, S.C., and in the early 1990s, it expanded into Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia. It has since expanded to Florida, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. For future expansion, the company is focusing on major markets such as Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia, as well as suburban New Jersey and Connecticut.
