Howell Township, Mich. - Less than two years after its opening, Kensington Valley Factory Shops in Howell Township is expanding. Phase II, which will increase the retail space by 35%, will add three buildings totaling 88,000 sq. ft. to the east side of the existing 250,000 sq. ft. center. Construction has begun on the first of the three buildings. Kensington Valley is a development of St. Louis-based Fru-Con Development Corp. and Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Howard & Rice.

Riverdale, Utah - Expansion work will begin in spring 1999 on Family Center at Riverdale, a 597,625 sq. ft. power center in Riverdale that currently is home to Wal-Mart, Super Target, Media Play, OfficeMax, PetsMart and Circuit City. The new area will consist of 871,000 sq. ft. of mixed-use real estate to include an office park, retail, entertainment and restaurants. Sportsman's Warehouse will serve as one of Phase II's major tenants. When completed in spring 2000, Family Center at Riverdale will total 1.4 million sq. ft. of space. Cleveland-based Developers Diversified Realty Corp. is the developer.

Port St. Lucie, Fla. - Ground recently was broken on Phase II of The Marketplace at Port St. Lucie. Goodwill Boutique, Supercuts and Hollywood Video will join existing tenants at the Port St. Lucie project, anchored by Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart. Currently, 73,360 sq. ft. of retail space is open for business, 30,000 sq. ft. is under construction and 43,000 sq. ft. of additional space is expected to get under way by the end of the year. The Marketplace is being developed by West Hartford, Conn.-based Devcon Enterprises Inc.
