Matthews, N.C.-based Family Dollar stores has announced several management changes. Irv Neger has been appointed senior vice president of softlines. Gil LaFare has been promoted to the position of senior vice president of real estate. Chuck Curry, former head of the company's asset protection department, has been promoted to vice president of store development and risk management. Ken Smith has been promoted to vice president of store process improvement, after two years spent working on new technology process development and implementation for Family Dollar.
