JPRA ARCHITECTS

Sep 1, 2008 12:00 PM

For 30 years, JPRA Architects has been recognized as a leader in retail architectural design, combining state-of-the-art innovation with cultural and market trends. As we move forward, and as the issue of sustainable design becomes ever more critical, we remain fully committed to environmentally sensitive design. We believe in designing retail and entertainment destinations in a way that reduces the use of nonrenewable resources, minimizes environmental impact and connects the consumer with nature.

Developers are taking a more serious look at opportunities to rejuvenate their current portfolio as new developments start to slow down. By turning these existing retail properties inside out, we help our clients formulate new looks, improve merchandising strategies and discover new possibilities for their existing centers. The expansion and renovation of the Gardens Mall, Aventura Mall and Cherry Hill Mall are prime examples of how such centers can be enhanced by rejuvenation.

The Gardens Mall, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., was recently enhanced to become a fresh contemporary environment. By expanding the center to include a new Nordstrom and other luxury retail, JPRA developed a contextual experience befitting today's lifestyle and successfully reinforced the Gardens Mall's position as the premier retail destination in the region.

The renovation and expansion of Aventura Mall, located in Aventura, Fla., consists of three levels of renovated and new retail space and the addition of a new Nordstrom. Interior renovations introduce warm woods, Italian porcelain flooring, new sculpted railings as well as lush carpet insets with custom seating.

JPRA is also in the process of a major expansion and complete renovation of Cherry Hill Mall, in Cherry Hill, N.J., for PREIT. As one of the original enclosed regional retail centers in the country, Cherry Hill will emerge with contemporary classic ambiance and an all-new shopping and dining experience.
