Consumers are finding that prices, in fact, are negotiable, even at some of the country's largest stores. Chains like Best Buy, Circuit City and Home Depot have quietly passed word down to salespeople that negotiating on price is acceptable, according to the New York Times. And it's not just for big-ticket items like plasma televisions. Shoppers may find they can haggle on the price of cameras, audio speakers, couches, rugs and even clothing.
