Bayer Properties, LLC held a ground-breaking for Front Range Village, a $120 million development in Fort Collins, Colo. When completed, the mixed-use project will contain 900,000 square feet of retail, office and public service space.

The Appraisal Institute appointed Frederick H. Grubbe as CEO of the organization, effective June 1, 2007. Previously, Grubbe served as president and CEO of the National Fraternal Congress of America, an association for fraternal benefit societies. While there, he was responsible for overseeing business and membership operations.

Sperry Van Ness appointed Jerry Anderson as COO. Anderson, who currently serves as president of Sperry Van Ness and will retain this position, will now oversee the firm's day-to-day operations, including marketing, technology, finance, operations and human resources. He will also be responsible for identifying key markets for growth.

Casto Lifestyle Properties and 1st Carolina Properties will develop Park West Village, a 95-acre mixed-use development in Morrisville, N.C. When completed, the project will include 750,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 50,000 square feet of office space, 140 hotel rooms and 425 residential units.

Roadside Development and BlackRock, Inc. are developing the Potomac Town Center, a mixed-use shopping center in Woodbridge, Va. When completed, the center will contain more than 600,000 square feet of high-end retail, a hotel, and residential and office space. Completion is scheduled for the spring of 2008.

Lauth will start construction on Bryan Towne Center, a 400,000-square-foot regional power village in Bryan/College Station, Texas. Opening is scheduled for the summer of 2008.

The Sembler Company is developing Winter Garden Village, a 1.2-million-square-foot retail center in Winter Garden, Fla. Orlando-based construction firm Tilt-Con Corp. is nearing completion on the project.

Omniplan has been awarded the design contract for Rayzor Ranch Town Center, a 1.2-million-square-foot, open-air shopping center in Denton, Texas. When completed, the project will include 400,000 square feet of small shop space, 75,000 square feet of office space, a multiscreen movie theater and three department stores. Completion is scheduled for the spring of 2009.

First Hartford Realty Corp. will develop the Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley, a 1.1-million-square-foot regional shopping center in Edinburg, Texas. When completed, the project will include a 455,000-square-foot lifestyle center and an adjacent 700,000-square-foot power center. First Hartford expects to break ground this June, with the opening scheduled for the fall of 2008.

Bourbonnais Commercial Venture will develop Bourbonnais Crossing, a $140 million, 124-acre mixed-use shopping district in Bourbonnais, Ill. The project will contain 500,000 square feet of retail space, 24 acres of senior living facilities and a hotel built on a 2.5-acre land site. Opening is scheduled for late 2008.

Opus South Corp. held a ground-breaking for Nature Coast Commons, a 350,000-square-foot retail center in Spring Hill, Fla. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2008.
