Shoppes at Veranda Falls

Sep 1, 2008 12:00 PM

Architecture 6400's design — helped push through by Stiles Corp.'s heavy involvement — is notable for achieving a very polished look on a modest $30 million budget. The project, which could very easily have been a run-of-the-mill center with a grocery anchor and several in-line tenants — instead has a distinctly “Old Florida” look and feel.

The design pulls from Florida's Cracker style, marked by pastel buildings with large front porches, covered walks and wood columns and siding. The Publix that anchors the center is meant to evoke a plantation house. Concrete pavers, plank ceilings, ceiling fans, French doors and decorative lighting all contribute to the overall project's distinct feel.
