Twin Aisle Café

Sep 1, 2008 12:00 PM

DLR Group took advantage of Twin Aisle Café's unique placement within Boeing Co.'s Everett, Wash., plant to create a dining environment that plays off the factory floor below. By sitting on the second floor, the space serves as a transition zone between upper level offices and the ground floor airplane assembly space. The design infuses the industrial context with the sleek ambiance of a chic downtown restaurant. A floor-to-ceiling curtain wall of natural and orange-tinted glass makes the restaurant glow and serve as a beacon within the hangar. The space offers three dining experiences. There is a glassed-in seating area, an open balcony and a quiet area separated by a curved wall running the length of the restaurant.
