Two CB Richard Ellis Brokers Jump To Cushman

Nov 3, 2004 5:20 PM, By David Bodamer

C. Bradley Mendelson and David A. Green, two veteran retail brokers, are moving from CB Richard Ellis Inc. to Cushman & Wakefield Inc.

Mendelson, who started at Insignia/ESG in 1997, became an executive vice president for CB Richard Ellis when those two firms merged last year. Green started at Insignia/ESG in 1991. They were co-recipients of the Real Estate Board of New York's Most Creative Retail Deal in 2000 for the 105,000-square-foot Toys 'R' Us store in Times Square.

"We wish them well in trying to re-build the retail group at Cushman & Wakefield," says Steve Iaco, a spokesman for CB Richard Ellis, in a statement noting that the two were good friends. Iaco says he's not worried about the competition. He named Andrew Goldberg, Jedd Nero, Bob Gibson, David LaPierre and Susan Kurland as CBRE brokers that would keep the company growing.

Mendelson and Green's move comes one month after Susan Kurland made the opposite move, jumping from Cushman to CB Richard Ellis.

"The reason I came to CB was that I felt it offered a better national and international platform," Kurland says. Kurland has helped bring international retailers, such as H&M, to the U.S. and expand across the country.

Kurland, who had been with Cushman since 1998, was the firm's highest-grossing broker nationally.
