THE LATHROP COMPANY

Nov 1, 2002 12:00 PM

The Lathrop Co. is a leading provider of construction services, with headquarters in Maumee (Toledo), Ohio. The company serves a varied clientele in the retail, industrial, commercial and institutional fields, offering design/build construction and construction management services in addition to its traditional general contracting work.

Lathrop offers full-service (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and equipment installation) in-house pre-construction services to assist our clients in achieving project objectives for cost, schedule, quality and the controlling of risk. Our lump sum estimating group is active in the regional general contracting market, and also provides current cost data for our construction management projects. Lathrop remains a company of builders, not construction brokers. We can assist in the evaluation of existing conditions, material availability and pricing, and can contribute value engineering ideas to the design team. The well-qualified staff of The Lathrop Co. is the backbone of our success. Seventy-five percent of our work is from repeat clients.

The retail industry represents a significant segment in the overall Lathrop Co. portfolio. At present, approximately 25% to 35% of our annual volume comes from retail projects. We completed our first regional mall project in 1970, in Toledo, and have since completed regional mall projects throughout the United States. In addition, we have built numerous strip centers, manufacturer marketplaces and “big box” retail facilities.

Lathrop's vast experience in retail construction brings to you a staff that knows the specific issues involved in your industry, and the importance these issues have in the pre-construction and construction processes. Lathrop is a subsidiary of the Turner Construction Co., is the largest general builder in the United States.
