  • Jerry Combs joined Atlanta-based Walpert Properties as senior vice president of the company's new corporate services division.
  • Gary Weiss is the newest senior vice president at Los Angeles-based J.H. Snyder Co. Prior to joining the company, Weiss worked as a tenant rep at Julien J. Studley Inc. and Credit Suisse First Boston.
  • Mark Costello stepped down from his position as COO at Northbrook, Ill.-based Grubb & Ellis. CEO Barry Barovick will assume Costello's duties until a replacement is named.
  • New York-based Cushman & Wakefield promoted former senior director Matthew Astrachan to the position of executive director. The company also named Bob Pressman, former CEO and managing principal for Newmark and Co.'s Financial Advisors LLC and New Spectrum Retail LLC affiliates, to the position of executive managing director of the newly formed Retail Management Consulting Group.
  • Shareholders at Washington, D.C.-based ChainLinks Retail Advisors selected Jon Kushner of Fameco Real Estate Corp./ChainLinks as the organization's new chairman.
  • Joseph Garafolo is the new vice president, commercial loans at Chicago-based Archer Bank, an affiliate of Metropolitan Bank Group.
  • Santa Monica, Calif.-based The Macerich Co. promoted Steve Howerton to vice president, tenant coordination and CAD services.
  • North Kansas City, Mo.-based Helzburg Diamonds promoted H. Marvin Beasley to president & COO.
  • Neil Simon is the new president of Merrifield, Va.-based Uniwest Jefferson Commercial Real Estate.
  • Columbus, Ohio-based Glimcher Realty Trust named Melinda Janik senior vice president and CFO. Janik succeeds William Cornely, who will continue as COO and treasurer.
  • Patricia Pinkos is the new senior investment officer for asset allocation and risk management at the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) in Sacramento, Calif.
  • David Cobb joined Orlando, Fla.-based Commercial Net Lease Realty as executive vice president and chief investment officer.
