Forest City Commercial Group opened Northfield Stapleton, a 1.2-million-square-foot open-air town center in Denver, Colo. The center is the first Main Street-style property to receive the LEED — CS Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Glimcher Realty Trust appointed R. Antonio Marshall as vice president of design and construction. Marshall has more than 15 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining Glimcher, he served as group manager/senior project manager with the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

Daniel Corporation, Selig Enterprises and the Canyon-Johnson Urban Fund will develop 12th & Midtown, a 2.5-million-square-foot mixed-use development on Atlanta's Midtown Mile. The project is scheduled to include 1.2 million square feet of office space, more than 500 hotel rooms, approximately 600 residences and 150,000 square feet of retail.

Bayer Properties, LLC hired David Fields as executive vice president, chief administrative officer and a member of the firm's executive committee. Prior to joining Bayer, Fields served as vice president and general counsel with the Irvine Company.

The Goodman Company started construction on Landstown Commons, a 540,000-square-foot mixed-use center in the Gateway corridor of Virginia Beach, Va. The project will include 500,000 square feet of upscale retail space and 40,000 square feet of office space and will cost approximately $90 million. Completion is scheduled for 2007.

CMH Architects, Inc. completed construction documents for the Shoppes at River Crossing, a 67-acre lifestyle center in Macon, Ga. The project will include 735,000 square feet of retail. Completion is scheduled for the spring of 2008.

McKinney Economic Development Corporation started utility work for Bridge Street Town Centre, a 1.1-million-square-foot center in McKinney, Texas, to be developed by O&S Holdings, LLC. When completed, Bridge Street Town Centre will include 450,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, a 70,000-square-foot movie theater, 200,000 square feet of office space and a 210-room hotel and convention center. The cost of the utility work is approximately $1.6 million.

CB Richard Ellis announced the promotion of Bob Pearlstein to senior vice president and Jack Hannum to first vice president in its Phoenix, Ariz. office. Pearlstein has been with CB Richard Ellis for 10 years. Hannum has worked for the company since 1998.

Talisman Companies, LLC appointed Arthur H. Weiner as president of the firm. Weiner will continue in his role as CEO of Arthur Weiner Enterprises, Inc., an independent global retail consulting firm he founded in 1984. James A. Schlesinger will retain his role as Talisman's CEO.

Edens & Avant held the grand opening for the Shoppes at Ryan Park, a 100,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center in Loudon County, Va. The property is located in the middle of Ryan Park Center, a mixed-use development scheduled to open in early 2007.
