Palm Desert, Calif. – A major expansion and renovation of the Westfield Shoppingtown Palm Desert shopping center has been planned at a cost of nearly $30 million.

Plans for the 870,000 sq.-ft. center include the addition of a 123,000 sq.-ft. Sears, a 20,000 sq.-ft. expansion of one of the mall’s two Macy’s stores and the addition of 55,000 sq. ft. to one of two Robinsons-May department stores.

Entertainment components, restaurants and an 800-space parking structure also will be added. The developments are slated for completion by next spring.
