Finard & Co. reports Southern New Hampshire retail vacancy lowest in New England

Burlington, Mass. – Locally based Finard & Co. LLC recently released its third annual report on the state of retail real estate in Southern New Hampshire. The study showed a drop in the region’s vacancy rate to 6.2%, the lowest among all New England regions studied by Finard.

At the start of 2001, the retail real estate inventory in Southern New Hampshire totaled 24.1 million sq. ft., a net increase of 213,000 sq. ft. over the previous 12-month period. The amount of vacancy fell by a net of 96,000 sq. ft. at the end of the first quarter of this year to 1.49 million sq. ft., a reduction of 6.1% from a year ago. Accordingly, the vacancy rate dropped from 6.6% to 6.2% during the same period.
