National Resources, LLC appointed Levin Management as the exclusive leasing agent for Edgewater Square, a planned mixed-use community in Edgewater, N.J. When completed, the project will feature 61,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and 480 luxury residences. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2007.

Federal Realty Investment Trust acquired a portfolio of retail assets in the Baltimore metropolitan area for approximately $189 million. The portfolio is located in White Marsh and consists of 665,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, including the Avenue at White Marsh, White Marsh Plaza and the Shoppes at Nottingham Square. The acquisition increases Federal's Baltimore/Washington GLA by 12 percent.

Garden Commercial Properties began construction on the Raritan Town Square, a 520,000-square-foot mixed-use project in Hunterdon County, N.J. Opening is scheduled for the spring of 2008.

Maryland-based developer Petrie Ross Ventures promoted Daniel Frasco to vice president and CFO, Lisa Fetter to vice president of leasing and Paul Janyska to vice president of construction. Prior to joining Petrie Ross, Frasco worked for Rouse Co.

New Plan broke ground for the Shoppes at Cinnaminson, a 330,000-square-foot open-air shopping center in Cinnaminson, N.J.

Divaris Real Estate Inc. appointed Karen R. Beale as principal of its Newport News, Va. office. In her new position, Beale will be responsible for managing the company's commercial brokerage and property management services throughout the Virginia Peninsula Market. She has 27 years of experience in real estate.

Federal Realty Investment Trust will expand the retail and restaurant selection at its Bethesda Row project in Bethesda, Md. in early 2008. Among the new tenants at the development will be Dolcezza Gelato, Le Pain Quotidien, Urban Chic Lucy Activewear and ColorWorks Salon. Upon completion of this current phase of redevelopment, Bethesda Row will contain 520,000 square feet of restaurant space, 140,000 square feet of office space and 180 residential units.
