Uniqlo opened two larger-than-life stores on Fifth Avenue and 34th Street, which together total 153,000 sq. ft. of space. Historically, Uniqlo stores have averaged between 8,000 sq. ft. and 10,000 sq. ft. in size. Uniqlo has tinkered with the right formula for its U.S. Stores since the mid-2000s, but its new locations will spearhead a massive expansion strategy that could potentially deliver hundreds of new stores in the United States. Emporis, a global provider of information on building data and construction projects, revealed the ranking of the world's 10 biggest malls, based on gross leasable area (GLA). It turns out nine of these malls are located in Asia, with the two largest located in China.
