Barney's New York For Sale?

In a nod to the booming luxury segment, the owners of Barney's New York are pondering a sale of the upscale department store chain. Bay Harbor Management and Whippoorwill Associates have retained Morgan Stanley and Peter J. Solomon to guide the process. Barneys currently operates flagship stores in New York, Chicago and Beverly Hills, Calif., as well as six other stores and 12 outlet locations.
