Dreams Of A Green Holiday

Look for a 7 percent rise in sales in the November to January period this year, in large part due to shoppers treating themselves to presents. So said panelists participating in a First Albany Corp. conference call on retail. Apparel and home furnishings will be the most popular purchases for the treat-yourselfers. Gift certificates, consumer electronics and home entertainment goods will be the top choices for gift givers, according to the panelists including Mark Pasquerilla, Crown American Realty Trust CEO, and Carl Steidtmann, Deloitte Research chief economist.
