July same-store retail sales up 2.5%

Aug 15, 2001 12:00 PM, Misty Reagin

Denver – According to data compiled by TeleCheck Services Inc., a subsidiary of locally based First Data Corp., same-store retail sales grew 2.5% in July over the same period in 2000.

This increase took place despite analysts' reports of declining consumer confidence and despite there being one less weekend shopping day.

The Southeast region led the nation, followed by the Southwest, the Mid-Atlantic, the Midwest, the Northeast and the West.
