June same-store retail sales up 2.4%

Houston – According to locally based TeleCheck Services Inc., same-store retail sales increased 2.4% over the same period in 2000. The Mid-Atlantic region led the country, followed by the Southeast, the Southwest, the West and the Midwest, which were tied, and the Northeast.

The TeleCheck Retail Index is based on a year-over-year, same-store comparison of the dollar volume of checks written by customers at more than 27,000 of TeleCheck’s subscribing locations.
