May 10, 2001 12:00 PM, Misty M. Reagin

Troy, Mich. – Brent Willis has resigned as chief marketing officer of locally based Kmart Corp., effective May 7, 2001. Willis was instrumental in the retailer’s campaign to revive the famous blue light specials.

He joined Kmart last December from Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, where he served as president of a division in Latin America. Mark Schwartz, Kmart’s president and COO, will oversee the marketing responsibilities until a successor is found.
