McLean, Va. – According to a recent telephone survey conducted by the locally based research and consulting firm Wirthlin Worldwide, 60% of Americans will spend the same amount of money or more this holiday season as they did last year.

Young consumers, those aged 35 and under, are reportedly three times as likely to spend more than those older than 35. In addition, 27% of male respondents say they will spend more, compared with 19% of female respondents.
