First Torrid store opens in California

City of Industry, Calif. – Locally based Hot Topic’s latest concept for plus-sized teens recently debuted at Brea Mall in California. Hot Topic will open additional Torrid stores next month in San Diego; Denver; Boston; Omaha, Neb.; and Annapolis, Md.

In addition, Hot Topic founder and former CEO, Orval Madden, has resigned as a director of the retailer. He previously stated that he would retire once the Torrid stores opened.
