Tesco's Landing Plans

Oct 1, 2007 12:00 PM

Tesco, the third largest retailer in the world, clarified its plans for penetrating the U.S. market. The company plans to aggressively roll out its U.S. venture, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, in the Inland Empire in California. There it has identified 48 sites for its 10,000-square-foot stores. It is also looking for opportunities throughout the rest of Southern California and in the Las Vegas and Phoenix markets. The company also has a distribution center in Riverside that will employ between 1,500 and 2,000 workers. “The fast-growing Inland Empire is an ideal location for our neighborhood markets,” Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market CEO said in a statement.
