Marshall Plan

Oct 1, 2007 12:00 PM

To mark the one-year anniversary of the changeover from Marshall Field's to Macy's, dozens of protesters gathered outside Macy's huge State Street store, suggesting shoppers boycott the retailer and demanding a return of the Field's imprint. According to the Associated Press, chants of “Field's is Chicago, Boycott Macy's!” were heard and signs reading “Macy's Go Home!” fluttered in the air. Protesters wore the same green that used to distinguish Marshall Field's shopping bags.
