Kmart to open store in Trinidad

Troy, Mich. – Locally based Kmart Corp. will spend $25 million to open its first store in Trinidad and Tobago as part of its expansion in the Caribbean. The 155,000-sq.-ft. superstore is expected to open June 2002 in Trincity with more stores likely to follow. Kmart already operates stores in Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
