Pop Go the Toys

Nov 1, 2007 12:00 PM

Toys ‘R’ Us is going the pop-up shop route with a temporary store in New York City. What's odd about that is pop-up shops are usually used when retailers are testing a market or trying to get exposure where they don't have a store. But Toys ‘R’ Us operates its largest store in the world just up the road in Times Square. The logic is that the 25,000-square-foot store, which will be open from Nov. 1 to Dec. 24, will serve the chain during the make-or-break holiday season.
